For class today, we did our play for a couple of minutes. The title for our play is "Malaysian Ghost Stories". We came up with 3 stories the first one was about a family driving through the Karak Highway to find out that there was a "pasar malam" (night market) at 3AM in the morning. Feeling hungry and tired, they got down and bought food from the vendors. They began to open up the food boxes to find out that there were worms instead of food. When they turned around, the vendors had all vanished into thin air and they sped off to their destination feeling scared.
The second scene was about a man driving at midnight while passing by a school when he saw a little girl pushing her bike. He winded down the window and asked what was she doing so late at night, then he came to his senses. What was a little girl doing in the middle of the night at an empty street?
The third story was about a mother and her daughter who woke up to having the same dream. In the dream, the mother was a puppeteer controling her daughter ( the puppet). The next morning, the girl found bruises on her arm which she had encountered from her dream last night.
BUT in the end, this was not the story which we came up with. More details in the group journals :D
The other group was to do a high school romance play and I thought it was pretty cool since there was going to have a pregnancy scene and lots of mushy mushy love. I personally favour love stories. Love stories make me feel all gooey on the inside and to be honest, I can't wait to watch the outcome of their play!
After watching the performance, we did an exercise where we were to pull our muscles and bust out various energetic moves. We were dancing around, hopping and jumping from place to place and after all that hassle, Mr Rey gave instructions to lie on the floor in a sleeping position. He told us to empty our minds and I could feel my heart beating rapidly every second. We were to think of the people around us, our closest friends and the one we've drifted apart. We were to imagine that there was an imaginary camera zooming away and to us. I imagined my life as a movie which was being recorded. Haha. Anyways, it was a very calming and soothing exercise which nearly drifted me to sleep but i managed to control my eyelids. Thinking of the person who drifted away from me has made me realize how much I've missed them.
